Sue Lindsell-Stewart

Head of Practice (Johannesburg)

Sue specialises in investor relations, sustainability, scenario planning, stakeholder engagement and reputation management consulting to governments, multinational and local companies as well as international clients needing on-the-ground expertise and support in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East.

Sue joined Cardew in August 2012 and has been seconded to Lonmin to act as a Corporate Spokesperson.

Sue’s 25-year career in financial and corporate communications consulting began in journalism in South Africa. After post graduate studies in public relations, she was appointed to a number of public relations management posts in multinational corporations including De Beers, Old Mutual and Anglo American.

Moving agency-side in 1988, she was a partner for eight years in a mainstream South African investor relations consultancy, GKCS until its acquisition by Citigate SA. Clients included: Rand Mines, Barplats, Concor, White & Case and JCI. Following the management contract, Sue established her own corporate communications consultancy in Johannesburg, advising clients across a number of sectors including finance, healthcare, mining and construction.

In 2001, Sue was appointed by the Ince Group to direct investor relations at corporate branding consultancy, Motiv.

From 2003 to 2005, Sue was the General Manager of Weber Shandwick’s Middle Eastern hub based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

From 2005 to 2011 Sue was Managing Partner of ReputationInc Middle East – the region’s first international advisors specialising in strategic communications.

From 2011 to August 2012 Sue was Managing Director and Head of the Johannesburg office for FTI Consulting (formerly Financial Dynamics South Africa).
